Dear Committee members:

I did a survey among people and I think it is very important and necessary to start a new art gallery for our district, so I am writing to ask you to help us to do that. I have discovered that there are good artists in our district. We have many painters, both modern and traditional, some sculptors and a few excellent potters. At present, none of these groups have a place to display their works. The gallery would provide such a place and would help people in the district to learn more about art and our artists.

In conclusion, I believe a gallery of local art and craft would not only encourage the artists and but also makes others proud of our local talent.. I do hope you will consider my suggestion.
