An American doctor, Graig Spencer, who returned to New York City from West Africa, has tested positive (阳性的) for Ebola(埃博拉), the New York Times reported. He was working for an organization in Guinea, one of the three West African countries hardest hit by Ebola.

Doctor Spencer went to Guinea around September18, 2014 and returned to America on October 17, 2014. Doctor Spencer, who has studied international emergency (紧急) medicine at Columbia University since 2011, had neither been to work nor seen any patients since his return. He had gone on a 3-mile jog (慢跑), gone to the High Line Park, ridden the subway and got a taxi to a bowling alley. He felt tired on October 21, 2014, and felt worse on October 22, 2014 when he made a call to authorities to talk about his illness and his travels carefully. He was taken to hospital from his apartment by a specially trained team wearing protective clothes.

Four American aid (援助) workers, including three doctors, were infected (感染) with Ebola while working in Africa and were sent to America for treatment (治疗) in recent months. All recovered (康复). Health care workers are easily hurt because of close contact with patients. In West Africa last year, more than 440 health workers contacted Ebola and about half died.
