Dear Tom,
You often tell me about your difficulty in making friends and communicating with others. Here are my suggestions and I hope they can help.
Be tolerant. Everyone has his or her own personalities, some of which may annoy you, but you should realize everyone is different and that your personality may also annoy others. If you think a person is so difficult to get along with, it may be just because he deals with something in a way different from yours.
Smile as much as possible. Smiling is a friendly language. Smiles can fill the gaps between people. If you smile a lot, you are sure to make a lot of friends.
Don’t keep silent when you are with someone. If others don’t talk, you may start a relaxing conversation with a topic that everybody has something to talk about, such as food and sports. Don’t ask others about any private problem, for it is impolite in every country.
